April Newsletter 2023-2024
Today is a Good Day to have a Good Day.
Dear Families,
Happy April! Can't believe that it is already here! We had so many incredible moments and experiences during March, a huge round of applause is definitely appropriate!
We have started the State Standardized testing. Something you can help us with is ensuring that your child is at school for testing. We recgonize there are some things out of our control with sickness. If doctor and dentist appointments can be scheduled around testing times, that would be great. We appreciate your communication with us as we complete our testing. We strive for all students to be able to take their assessments in the environment that they are most familiar and comfortable with along with the supports that provide them optimal testing spaces.
If you have a child in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade, mark your calendars for the Spring Music Programs. Mrs. Spengler, with the assistance of Mrs. Cecil and Mr. Tomko, create an amazing opportunity for our students to showcase their musical and performing skills.

- Thursday, May 16th, 10:30 and 2:30
Field Trips are quickly approaching, and we are grateful for the hours you volunteer to help support us on these trips. They provide fun learing experiences not only with peers, but with families.
This past week we practiced a Lockdown Drill with the support of our SRO Officer Mika and BPD. When we complete these drills, the administration team reviews with First Responders what we are doing well and things to consider. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with any concerns or questions. We will be having a Fire Drill in April. The date has not been determined yet, but once it is, I will reach out to let you know. I encourage you to ask your child about the drills we practice for they may have questions or curiosities.
Lastly, you will be receiving a message through IC with guidance for providing us input for class placements for next year. Be on the lookout for that next week!
Friendly reminder that we are live on Instagram! Search for Shadow Hills Elementary School as shadowhillswolves.
We appreciate you! Our Shadow Hills Families are amazing and your support doe not go unnoticed! With all of the year end activities we have planned, we look forward to seeing you at the school.
Sincerely,
The Shadow Hill’s Staff

A Message from our Health Office
We have a clothing closet that is used for accidents and sometimes our littles test out our water puddles on the playground--so we need a change of clothes. If you happen to have any clothes that came from the health office, thank you for sending them back. If you would like to make some donations to our closet, the following would be helpful:
- Girls Sizes 6, 8, 10, 12--shirts and pants
- Boys Sizes 6 and 8--pants
- Shoes--any sizes
- Socks--small sizes
We appreciate your help!
